Thank you for your interest in Downtown Brighton. The City of Brighton is strategically located at the intersections of Interstate 96 and U.S. Highway 23. This location makes Downtown Brighton a natural home for commuters heading to Ann Arbor, Detroit, Flint, or Lansing. The City and its four surrounding townships are home to a population of 89,000 people. In fact our market data shows over 60,000 individuals are within a short 10-minute drive to Downtown Brighton.
With Brighton both a strong bedroom and business community, Downtown Brighton is a perfect place for your new venture. Many individuals travel Main Street, or pass by on Grand River, as they make their commute to and from the freeways. In fact, Main Street sees about 24,000 vehicles per day and over 30,000 vehicles per day on Grand River at Main Street-location, population, and traffic; the essentials of business.
In April of 2006, the City of Brighton passed a resolution to create Livingston County’s only Principal Shopping District. This organization was created to take a proactive approach to the marketing of the Downtown Brighton Community. We have implemented many initiatives including the launching of this, the PSD website.
In addition to the marketing and promotional efforts of the PSD Board of Directors, Downtown Brighton is home to a DDA Board that has invested millions into the Downtown Brighton. New parking lots, lighted brick paver crosswalks, and flowers during the spring and summer are just a sample of the investments being made to enhance the aesthetics of the downtown environment.
